Introducing The Holiday Crochet Orb Ornament
This is a quick and simple Christmas ornament pattern.

What You Will Learn

In this pattern you will learn how to crochet around an orb / ball.

About & Materials

Lighted Orbs or any 3” diameter Christmas bulb.
Here’s the lighted ones on Amazon:

This pattern calls for “skinny” cotton yarn, otherwise known as Sport Weight. I used the Cotton Kings 8/4 yarn and a 3.5mm hook.

Hobbii.com is a great place to order this weight yarn which they call “8/4” They have many more choices of colors in this weight cotton yarn than the big names here in the US. (Let me know in the comments if you know of good sport weight cotton yarn in US)

You can use acrylic yarn instead, but bear in mind it may stretch more than cotton yarn and so it might not be a perfect fit. If so, you can reduce the number of chains in Row 7 to make it fit.

Great Gifts!

You’ll probably want to make more than one and give them as gifts.
