Spread holiday cheer in these vintage inspired fingerless mitts. With welted cuffs and a variety of patterns these are fun and quick to knit.

Jamieson & Smith 2 ply Jumper Weight (4 ply weight / fingering - 115m/125yds; 25g ball)
or similar 100% wool fingering weight yarn (Pattern uses approximately 32g total).

Yarn C1: Jamieson & Smith Shade: 001; 1 x 25g ball (10g)
Yarn C2: Jamieson & Smith Shade: Shade: 9097; 1 x 25g ball (7g)
Yarn C3: Jamieson & Smith Shade: 1281; 1x 25g ball (6g)
Yarn C4: Jamieson & Smith Shade: Shade 029; 1 x 25g ball (9g)

US size 1 (2.25mm) and 3 (3.25mm) sets of double point needles (or circular needles for magic loop method),
or size needed to obtain gauge.
Note: For a larger size glove use one size larger (ie: 2 and 4)

Stitch markers; stitch holder or waste yarn; yarn needle

Size
One size fits small/medium adult hands with a circumference of 7 - 7 3/4 in/18-20 cm. Length from wrist to base of fingers 7 1/4in/20cm.

Gauge
30 stitches and 32 rounds to 4 inches/10 cm after washing and blocking.
Note: You may need different sized needles to obtain correct gauge.

Pattern notes
These fingerless mitts are knit in the round. After knitting thumb gusset, stitches are put on hold and thumb is created by picking up stitches after completing the main mitt.

There is a separate chart for the right hand and the left hand.
Read charts from right to left and bottom to top.

When finished, block mitts using a wool wash for proper fit and enhanced stitch definition.

The thumb is created with increases and then stitches are put on hold and picked up to finish at the end.

There is enough yarn with one 25g ball of each color to knit two pairs - one for you and one for a gift!

Pattern is sized for a small/medium adult hand. Colorwork can cause you to knit tighter than usual so please check your gauge in the round. Going up one size in needles will allow for a larger size glove.
