The Holka is a semi-circular shawl. The pattern is repeated eight times, but you can make it any size by adjusting the number of repeats.
Using two colours, that could be either contrast or complementary, you knit garter and stockinette stripes, alternately.
The pattern was written with Dundaga wool in mind. Characteristic for this wool are long colour sections where the switch between colours is gradual. When the solid colour breaks/interrupts the multicoloured transition, you get the eye catching effect – for which in fact Holka was designed.

You will need 100g of MC and 100g of CC (but of course you can use just 1 coloure or as many as you like!)
