These mittens were inspired by the book Norwegian Knitting Designs by Annichen Sibbern Bøhn from 1929, which was the same book that instilled my interest in traditional Norwegian stranded knitting. This Setesdal motif dates back to the 1900s, where it was first created on sweaters in the Setesdalen valley in southern Norway. I wanted to bring this classic motif into a fun and easy mitten.
Holleque is a family name from around Aurdal, Norway near the Sognefjord.

You’ll need aprox. 107 yards for your main color & 65 yards for your contrast color.
