I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a big, squishy shawl. It’s one of my favorite things - to be wrapped up in an oversized, woolly, hand knit shawl. You’ll love knitting this up as much as you will love wearing it.

Hollow Vine Shawl starts at the bottom edge with a simple 8 st/16 row repeat of the vine lace pattern. With decreases on every right side row, the rows get smaller and smaller the more you knit, helping you feel like it’s knitting up in no time. It also provides lots of mindless knitting, as the majority of the shawl is worked in garter stitch - with only a 33 st border that requires a little more attention.

Offered in both written and charted directions, you are able to work in your preferred method. This pattern has been tested and professionally tech edited.

Yarn:
Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (100% Superwash Wool, 220yds per 100g ball).
Balls required: 6
Or approximately 1122yds of worsted weight yarn. A solid colored yarn will really help the cables and lace stand out.
Shown in color 860/ Smoke Heather

Needles:
4.5mm/US 7 or size needed to obtain gauge. I recommend using a 40” circular to hold the large number of stitches.

Gauge:
20sts and 40rows =4”, in garter stich, knit flat and gently blocked.
Note: Gauge is not crucial to the design of the pattern; however, it may affect the finished size, yardage required, and overall feel and drape of the fabric.

Notions:
(27) Stitch markers
Cable needle
Needle for weaving in ends
