Holly's Cabled Mitts
These cabled mitts were originally a commission from my sister’s partner, Holly, who asked for ‘cabled mitts’ in a ‘blue-grey’.
Size: M, but the final mitt is quite stretchy and can accommodate smaller and larger hands.
Techniques Used: Long-tail cast on, knit, purl, slipped stitches, and cable techniques.
Experience Level: Advanced Beginner, Intermediate. Cable chart is written and charted.
Yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash Sport (100% merino wool, 136 yards), 1.5 skeins. Shown in Colonial Blue Heather.
Other Materials:
US 5 DPNs or 32” circular needles if using Magic Loop, or size to match gauge.
Spare US 5 needle or cable needle for cables
Yarn needle for finishing
Stitch marker
Gauge: 8sts=1” in seed stitch
A very special thank you to all my Test Knitters
