Sizes
Mid-calf socks, based on foot circumference:
• S – 20-23 cm / 8-9”
• M – 23.5-26 cm / 9¼-10¼“
If you knit knee-high socks, measure your calf circumference (the widest part):
• S – 30-35 cm/11¾-13¾”
• M – 36-41 cm/14¼ -16¼”

Yarn
You can use any classic sock yarn: fingering weight (~380-420 m / 415-460 yds per 100 g / 3.5 oz) with a sturdy content (wool / merino mixed with nylon or other fortifying fiber).
You will need:
• Mid-calf – 65 (75) g / 2.3 (2.65) oz
• Knee-high – 100 (110) g / 3.5 (3.9) oz

Tools

  • Needles – either 80 cm / 32” circulars, or 9” circulars, or DPNs. You will need only 1 size for mid-calf and 3 different ones for knee-high socks (see further details on next page): 2-2.25-2.5-2.75 mm / US 0-1-1.5-2 (or sizes to get pattern gauge)

Gauge per 10 cm / 4” after wet-blocking (stockinette / mesh)
