The Homespun Cowl is a simple and classic design, perfect for beginner knitters and beginner spinners looking to use up some slubby yarn.
The cowl is knit in the round using worsted weight yarn, but gauge is not critical to this project. Stockinette stitch is used to frame the top and bottom edges, and two by two ribbing is used in the middle to hug the cowl closer to the neck .

Sizes: 1(2)
Sizes by finished circumference in inches: 22 (26)
Yarn: 200 (300) yards of any heavy DK - Worsted weight yarn. The yarn I used for my sample was a 2-ply, light worsted weight, merino/alpaca blend.
Needles: US 7, 16-inch needles

Gauge: 4.5 - 5 sts per inch in stockinette stitch (blocked). (19 sts/ 4 inches) Gauge is not critical for this project.
