As well as the honeycomb cable design, the pattern also includes two alternative cables for you to try. You can simply work the garter stitch and cable band which is about 6cm wide or continue to add the rib border on each side for a really cosy fit.

I love working with Di Gilpin’s Lalland as the stitch definition is fabulous and of course it is lovely and warm but this pattern can be knitted in any double knitting yarn. It is really beautiful and warm worked with alpaca (the images are worked with dk from Bowbridge Alpaca Farm in Fife) or worked with a combination of 4ply and kidsilk.
