** THIS IS AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE PATTERN, NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT **

This is a digital download for a knitted tile pattern.

Slipped stitches create a textured hexagon pattern that seems to ‘float’ over the stockinette (stocking) stitch background. The tile is worked with a border in garter stitch, with stitches slipped at the start of rows to create a firm edge. Work slip stitches at the start of rows knitwise, holding the yarn in back.

NOTES:

• piece is worked flat
• knitter needs to know how to knit, purl, slip stitches, read a chart
• pattern is written for fingering weight yarn (1)
• calls for US size 2 (2.75mm) needles
• can be sized up and down using different size needles/yarn

This pattern also appears in the book 100 Knitted Tiles, published by David & Charles in 2024.
