Wrap yourself in soft, sumptuous cashmere! A new twist to a basic stole design, working garter stitch combinations to define the rectangle for a collar and bottom edge, and garter stitch ties, each with openings to enable one tie to slip into the other to keep the stole in place. I tested lots of yarns to find the best for drape and softness that this design needs to hug the body. Choose yarn substitutes carefully to find soft merinos and wool blends that produce a soft drapey swatch. You will also use larger needle size than yarn calls for. Karabella’s Aurora Bulky is a good substitute. A very dramatic piece that everyone will exclaim over.
