Size Guide

To choose the appropriate size, you need to measure the head circumference. This parameter is the key factor when selecting the size.
The age correspondence is approximate, as head circumference can vary significantly regardless of age.
It is recommended to rely on actual measurements.

Children’s Sizes

Approximate age correspondence:
6–12 months (1–2 years), 2–5 years (5–9 years)

Suitable for head circumference (children):
44–46 (46–48) 48–50 (50–52) cm

Width of the item when laid flat:
approximately (~17) ~18 (~19) ~20 cm.

‍ Adult Sizes

(XS) S (M) L

Suitable for head circumference (adults):
(52–54) 54–56 (56–58) 58–60 cm

Width of the item when laid flat:
approximately (~22) ~23 (~24) ~25 cm.

Performed according to the following sizes:

This means that all product parameters (length, width, stitches, head circumference, yarn quantity, etc.) will be calculated according to these standard sizes.

You Will Need: Yarn

Total amount of yarn for the entire hood:

• merino, cashmere, sock yarn (any brand, 100 m / 50 g):
125 / 125 / 150 / 150 / 175 / 175 / 200 / 200 g

• kid mohair (25 g / 210–250 m):
25 / 25 / 50 / 50 / 50 / 50 / 50 / 50 g.

Example of Calculation for Size L by Colors

Total amount:
• main yarn — 200 g
• kid mohair — 50 g

Color distribution for the outer and inner parts:
• Outer part color: 125 g of main yarn + 25 g of kid mohair
• Inner part color: 75 g of main yarn + 25 g of kid mohair.

The model is knitted with two strands of the yarns listed above held together + an optional strand of lurex.

Yarn Options

Main yarn:
• Gründl Hot Socks Pearl — 200 m / 50 g — held double
• Rukodilnalavka sock yarn (Ukraine) — 400 m / 100 g — held double
• Any yarn 100 m / 50 g — held single

Kid mohair:
• Drops Kid-Silk — 210 m / 25 g
• Any kid mohair 210–250 m / 25 g

Additionally (optional):
• Lurex — 1500 m / 50 g (any brand)

You may use other yarns similar in weight and yardage to those listed.

Required Needles

• Circular needles No. 4, 4.5, and 5

Purpose:
• No. 4 and 4.5 — for the front part
• No. 5 — for knitting the hood.

Gauge

19 sts × 27 rows = 10 × 10 cm, swatch knitted in stockinette stitch.
