Gamers can slip their hands right through and stay wrapped up while they play! The pattern includes instructions to make this hooded knight blanket in either super bulky yarn or worsted weight yarn. It is very detailed with pictures throughout to make things easy to understand. With these detailed instructions, even those with little crochet experience can find success creating their own masterpiece!

HOODED KNIGHT BLANKET PATTERN DETAILS:
-Sizes (not including hood): Baby, Small (42″x 36″), Medium (54″x 48″) & Large (66″x 60″)
-Skills: Chain, single crochet, double crochet, turning chain, half double crochet, slip stitch, stitch, single crochet decrease, bobble stitch (explained in pattern), basic increasing & basic sewing.

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
-Hooks: You will need a 5 mm (H) for SMALL worsted weight, 6 mm (J) for WORSTED weight, 6.5 mm (K) for SMALL bulky,and 9 mm (M) for Bulky.
-Yarn: FOR BOTH OPTIONS You are welcome to use any brand of yarn as long as it is in the same weight category and you check your gauge before beginning because you don’t want your blanket and hood to turn out overly large (or small!). For a tip on how to save time when checking your gauge, check out my blog post entitled “Becoming a Master Gauge Checker: It’s a stinky job, but somebody’s gotta do it…”

  • FOR SUPER BULKY (Category 6) I used Lion Brand Hometown USA Yarn . For the main color you will need 670 yards for the small, 1053 yards for the medium and 1420 yards for the large size. For shield colors you will need 140 yards for the small, 162 yards for the medium and 200 yards for the large size . For the border color you will need 81 yards for the small, 120 yards for the medium and 162 yards for the large.
  • FOR WORSTED WEIGHT (Category 4) I used Vanna’s Choice Yarn. For the main color you will need 1020 yards for small, 1700 yards for medium and 2565 yards for large. For the shield colors you will need 200 yards for the small, 220 yards for the medium, and 260 yards for the large. For the border color you will need 90 yards for the small, 100 yards for the medium, and 140 yards for the large.

-Sewing needle with large eye
-Pins are optional for placing pieces before sewing (I highly recommend this!)
