Hoppy New Year Scarf was designed to celebrate 2023 Lunar New Year, the Year of the Rabbit, but it is just as much fun for the little one to wear in the spring, or to celebrate Easter.

The scarf and the pocket are sewn together after both pieces are completed separately. The scarf is knitted in garter stitch, and the pocket is worked with 2 different color yarn. The ears are knitted by picking up stitches from the completed color work, and the tail is a pompom that is attached directly onto the pocket.

length of scarf: 40 in / 102 cm
length of pocket: 5 in / 13 cm
width: 4 in / 10 cm

Yarn Usage
main color: 223 y / 124 g
contrasting color: 22 y / 12 g

The yarn used in the sample was Biscotte Yarns “Griffon”. I suggest that you over budget on the amount of yardage necessary to complete the project, as each knitter knits differently and there may be a discrepancy in the actual amount of yarn used.
