Cool, grey days and crisp dark nights call for a comfy and perfectly slouchy hat to keep the chill at bay. Horizons hat is the reversible staple your autumn wardrobe needs, big enough to fit a multitude of head sizes and slouchy enough to fit an updo or just look stylish! This is a great stash busting project using either laceweight held doubled or fingering weight single.

Sizing fits a 21.5” circumference head, however due to the reversible nature of the Waffle Stitch pattern this hat is elastic enough to fit a wide range of head sizes.

Gauge is 8 sts and approximately 9 rows to 1” in Waffle St. pattern on US 3 needle.

Yarn:
Since this is a great stash busting project only small amounts of lace weight yarn are needed! For the three stripe lace version you’ll need:
190 yrds. of two colors (for MC and CC2)
320 yrds. of one color (for CC1)

Fingering weight can also be used for this project, for a single color hat you’ll need approximately 350 yrds. of any fingering/sock weight.

Feel free to experiment with this pattern, multiple stripes, color combos, and sizings can be easily modified from the original pattern, so have fun!!
