These
 are
guidelines
on
how
to
knit
 a horizontally ribbed
tea
cozy
with
a
handy
loop
at
the
top.
 The
alternating
furrows
and
 ridges
make
for
extra
 thickness
 and
insulation.
The instructions are for knitting flat on two needles, and another set is for knitting in the round. It comes with a diagram for visual learners.
You can knit this to the size of your teapot - just measure around the pot and subtract 5-15% for negative ease (the pattern says 5%). Double up on your yarn to make a stiff fabric. I would use wool, for its insulating properties. The sample cozy weights 170 grams.
