The Horsetooth Handbag is knit in one-piece and then the sides are seamed together. The beautiful stitch pattern is tightly knit using 3 strands of yarn so that a bag liner is not required. For an easy way to knit with 3 strands without having to roll 3 separate balls of yarn, see my YouTube video tutorial of the “Navajo 3-Ply Technique” here: https://youtu.be/yjqkk6H2v7w

The handbag was knit on a 3/4” gauge, 41-peg yellow Knifty Knitter round loom. It requires approximately 475 yards of a worsted weight yarn. Red Heart Super Saver in Soft Navy was used in the sample.

The pattern includes photo tutorials of the mock crochet stitch and the half hitch cast on to aid the knitter. As such, the pattern is suitable for a confident advanced beginner who has mastered the basic skills of loom knitting.

UPDATE: This pattern now includes instructions for making both an 11” x 13” handbag (navy in pictures) AND a 14.5” x 12” tote bag (purple in pictures).
