HOT Potholders
These potholders are a great project for beginners who want to create something practical – not just crochet back and forth without a purpose. You’ll get to practice your bobble stitches, but they’re still simple enough for even a complete beginner to follow (with a little concentration ). So go ahead and dive into a pair of HOT potholders!
MATERIALS NEEDED
Cotton yarn in 1–2 different colors. I used approx. 125 g of grey and a small amount of yellow.
3.5 mm crochet hook
Thermal batting (for example available at fabric stores), or as I used – a cut-to-size dishcloth as lining.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Chain stitch (ch)
Single crochet (sc)
Slip stitch (sl st)
Bobble stitch
MEASUREMENTS
The finished potholders measure approx. 19 x 19 cm (7.5 x 7.5 inches). However, the final size will depend on your gauge, yarn choice, and hook size. If the piece seems too large or too small after the first few rows of single crochet, try adjusting one of the above factors.
