This classic stitch pattern, a riff on ribbing, makes for a handsome, well-fitting glove. It’s also relatively easy to knit—just keep the knit and purl ribs lined up, and you have it made.

Suitable for both men and women, this pattern would be equally effective worked with short, open fingers. I recommend a solid or semisolid-color yarn: the stitch pattern would get lost with a busy variegated yarn.

To be worn with negative ease.
