This sweater was inspired by the stitch pattern itself. It’s really simple and looks great. It’s jazzed up by using three colours for the contrast, in pinks and grey.

All the patterns are worked in houndstooth stitch, using stranded knitting. This is achieved by working a two-colour pattern repeat across the row. One colour is held at the top, and the other is held at the bottom – the back of your work should look similar to a woven piece of fabric, with strands of yarn running across certain sections.
It is important to make sure that both colours are secured at the ends of your work. At the end of a row, to carry both yarns to the very end, either knit the last stitch using both colours or weave the non-worked colour in. Another way to secure the non-worked colour is to twist the two yarns together before you start your next row. You only need to do this at the end of rows, not the start.
