This dishcloth looks like plain stripes when looking from above. But when looking from an angle, the house illusion emerges. Note that photographs do not do justice to illustrate the fascination. Check out my Instagram for a short video for the animation.

Shadow knitting involves only simple knit, purl, alternate two contrasting colours in stripes, basic cast-on, and bind-off. It is an easy and quick project for beginners. Both chart and written instructions are provided. What a stash busting project that you can not only make a dishcloth, but use it as a building blocks for cushion or blanket.

There are lucky families having a house that they can call it home, feeling comfortable and safe. But many women and children have to turn away from their home due to domestic violence. I charge a nominal price on this pattern, so that all proceeds will be donated to support a local home shelter for women and children.
