I was asked by the wonderful Talitha of Talithadance to make something for the silent auction she is having for an event. Her wellness event helps support House of the Roses, a volunteer dance company that brings the joy of dance, movement, and creative self-expression to at-risk children and youth in New York City homeless shelters and community centers. Through free weekly dance and movement workshops with dedicated Volunteer Teaching Artists -- and opportunities to perform their own choreography and be celebrated for their hard work and artistry at special events -- these children discover the power of dance to lift us up and the rewards of teamwork and participation in a creative community.

This is the project I made- inspired by roses, children and movement. The hat- A flowery brim with cascading stems to the crown. Cowl- a firm plate of flowers liken to a shield to keep out the cold.

All proceeds from the sale of this pattern will go to House of the Roses. So with the purchase of this pattern you not only get a cute hat and cowl, you also get to help children that need a safe place to bloom and grow!
