Many of my friends have requested a knit replication of their cherished pet. I’ve decided to share some of the designs with the knitting community!

If you have a pet rabbit, it is probably a European rabbit or ‘coney’.
There are swamp rabbits, marsh rabbits, forest rabbits, desert rabbits, mountain rabbits, brush rabbits and even volcano rabbits: these fluffy guys are everywhere! More than half of all the rabbits in the world reside in North America.
But the chap in this pattern, Flapper - originally named Monsieur Flappeur - is actually from Paris and was absolutely tiny when we got him. The knit variation is pretty much a life-size copy of him as a baby rabbit. Nowadays, Flapper has a bit of an attitude. So, the idea of his look-alikes taking over the (knitting) world will definitely stroke his ego!

This model was knitted on 2.50 mm double pointed sock needles in Lana Grossa 365 Cashmere (12) black and Lang Alice (916 0094) white. Lana Grossa Mohairlana (10) black and Scheepjes Mohair Rhythm (685) hiphop were used for the fluffy parts and the mane.

This rabbit measures 15 cm from nose to tail and is an easy to medium project, that requires some short row and intarsia knitting and knitting in the round.
