The Hudson Hat is a worsted weight hat worked featuring a ribbed brim worked up on a US size 6 / 4.0 mm 16” circular needle. The body of the hat is knit in stockinette on US size 7 / 4.5 mm 16” circular needles. You will also need either DPNs or a long circular needle in US size 7 / 4.5 mm to knit the crown decreases.


Sizes: Small (medium, large)

Finished Measurements:

  • S: 8” tall x 17” circumference (will fit up to a 22” head, height of hat is measured with brim folded)
  • M: 8.5” tall x 18.5” circumference (will fit up to a 23” head, height of hat is measured with brim folded)
  • L: 9” tall x 20” circumference (will fit up to a 24” head, height of hat is measured with brim folded)

Yarn: 170 (190, 210) yards of KnitPicks Swish Worsted in the Nutmeg Heather colorway

Needles: US 6 / 4.0 mm 16” circular needle, US 7 / 4.5 mm 16” circular needle, AND either DPNs or long circular (for magic loop method) for decreases

Gauge: 22 sts x 32 rounds = 4” in stockinette
