When my daughter left home for college, I wanted to send her with a little something for the inevitable homesick feeling. I thought for quite some time about what to send. I wanted it to be useful, but not so big it was impractical and not so small it would get lost. I finally settled on a scarf; useful, as we live in the Midwest, not big or impractical, and certainly not small. So, I designed the Hug From Home Scarf. I chose to use leftover yarn from projects familiar to her, making the yarn itself, individually memorable. She received her scarf on the eve of her college adventure, and she wore it every winter until graduation. I hope you can use this pattern to give a “hug” to anyone who is dear to you!
