Hug + hygge + huge = Asymmetrical ribbed cowl to keep you nice and cozy. Oversized without being too bulky.

NB: This pattern has not been test knitted by third parties. If you have any feedback to add, I would love to hear it. :)
A couple of notes:

  • There is a strip of knitted fabric referred to as a “saddle” in the pattern that adds structure and visual interest; however, this is not a saddle shoulder and is not intended to be worn over the shoulder.
  • There is intentionally more fabric in the front than in the back so that a coat can be worn more comfortably over the cowl. This asymmetry can reduced according to taste by casting on fewer stitches, shortening the body length, or using smaller needles and/or finer yarn.

Erratum:
Thank you to the eagle-eyed raveler who pointed out a typo; instructions should read:
“4. Next RS row: cast on 35 more sts (80 total). Work to end of row.”
