HULDUFOLK
The Huldufolk, or the Hidden People, live in Iceland. When God came to the Garden of Eden, Eve hid her children and God cursed all that she had hidden to remain hidden. Ever since then, the Huldufolk have lived side-by-side with mankind in a parallel and hidden world. The Huldufolk are essentially faeries, but it’s rude to call them as such. For centuries, roads and other structures in Iceland have been built around landmarks that are considered part of the hidden people’s world, or are possibly hidden people themselves. The winding, parallel cables in this sock pattern are meant to emulate the unique relationship with and the existence of the hidden people.
