The Hunter’s Moon is the name given to the full moon that follows the Harvest Moon (the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox), typically falling in October. Its name comes from the tradition of hunting during this time to stock up on meat for the approaching winter months. The bright moonlight, combined with cleared fields from the harvest, allowed for excellent visibility and hunting opportunities for various animals . The yarn and pattern for the socks were created for Yarn Twisters Sock Club October 2025.

Yarn: 1 skein Yarn Twisters Rylyn; 420 yards/ 115g; 80% SW Merino, 20% Nylon OR any fingering weight yarn
