Pattern includes 3 sizes, to accommodate the entire family!
Hat is knit from the bottom up, with a simple fair isle design to keep it interesting.
The earflaps are added after the hat is finished.
Recommended needle sizes:
16” circular, size 5 ( for bottom edging and earflaps );
16” circular, size 8 ( for body );
double pointed size 8 ( for crown ).
Optional: double pointed size 5 needles for earflaps, which are worked flat.
Pattern includes 13”, 17”, and 20” finished circumference.
Choose hat size based on actual head measurement, minus
1-2” for good fit.
Required skills include: casting on, knitting and purling in the round on circular and double pointed needles, 2 color knitting ( working from a chart ), decreasing, and picking up stitches.
