Looking for an extra large, extra warm hat? This hat uses the waistcoat stitch to give it a knit look with very few gaps. Since it is made with bulky, wool yarn, it is thick and warm. It’s perfect for cold winter chores like clearing snow and winter play like sledding with the kiddos or building snowmen!

I used 2 skeins of Paton’s Classic Wool in dark heather for the pictured hat. You could substitute most other bulky weight yarns, like Wool-Ease Chunky, Hometwon USA, Charisma, etc.
