This pattern was designed for the Sock Knitters Anonymous group as the January 2021 Mystery Sock, or MOCK, to fit the stranded colorwork challenge.

There will also be a Winter 2021 KAL in my KnittyMelissa Designs group for any of my patterns starting January 1st.

This pattern will be released as a series of 4 clues on January 1, 8, 15 & 22. (Until Jan 1, there is nothing to download. Check your library or use the download link on this pattern page starting after the New Year.)

While working on this design, I brought home an 8-week old puppy. Knitting and designing socks while training and playing with a very active puppy was quite a challenge! As I worked on my sample sock (anytime he was napping), I realized that I had unconsciously chosen colors that matched our pup’s fur & eyes, so it seemed fitting that I name the pattern after him.

Three Sizes:
Small - 60 sts (Medium - 70 sts, Large - 80 sts)

Materials
Fingering weight sock yarn in 3 colors:
• 60-80 grams main color (MC) – dark solid recommended

• 10-15 grams contrast color 2 (CC2) – color pop solid recommended
US size 1 (2.25mm) & size 1.5 (2.5mm) circular needles or size(s) needed for fit/gauge - a larger needle for colorwork plus one size smaller. Note that all needle size changes are optional.
Cable needle (if you use one)
Locking/removable stitch markers & tapestry needle

This pattern is written for magic loop but can be adapted to dpns or two circulars.
