Hydrangea Hat was inspired by the gigantic Hydrangea shrubs that grew in our yard. Their massive blue clusters of blooms were fluffy and intrigued me with their arrangement. This hat mimics the pattern of petals and blooms and comes to a neat decrease closure.

The lace is quite stretchy so this hat will fit a variety of head sizes. The smaller size comes to a slight point, giving the wearer a gnome-like appearance.

The hat calls for DK weight, but a lighter worsted yarn can be used as well.
