This sumptuous cowl represents the Danish concept of hygge, which roughly translates to “cozy” or “comfort”. Knitted in the round with 100% cashmere yarn in a straightforward stripe pattern, the knitting is a joyful experience while the resulting cowl is thick and luxurious. A simple slip-stitch pattern is worked in the first round of each color to add interest to the repeating stripes. The cowl is worked as a tube (double thickness and double warmth!) that’s finished off with Kitchener stitch. Choose a gradient kit or combine colors of your choice!

The first round of each stripe is worked in a knit-one-slip-one pattern to blend the boundaries between colors.

The pattern consists of 4-round stripes of alternating colors; leftover yarn is used to work additional 2-, 3-, or 4-round stripes using six of the colors. You may have enough yarn to work more or fewer of these individual stripes.
