These are unusually constructed socks at a fine gauge. It’s a challenging pattern, and assumes a lot of familiarity with sock techniques.

The socks start at the point at which the foot meets the ankle at the top; works out in six (and later eight) directions; and ends with a long graft down the middle of the sole.
