Hytop Vest
Designed with a crew neck, and worked top down, the “Hytop Vest” has seamless construction and easy style. The pattern offers nine sizes with a finished fit of 2-4” of positive ease. There are optional color work charts which allow the knitter to customize the vest length to their preferences. The armhole openings are deep, allowing for comfortable layering.
One main color and three contrasting colors of a sport weight yarn are used in this modern fair-isle motif.
Shown here using Ikigai Fiber Paka Washi in Aquamarine, Geranium, Orchid and Dolphin.

Construction Notes
The Hytop Vest is worked seamlessly from the top down in stockinette stitch.
It begins at the back, working back and forth with armhole shaping increases.
Stitches are picked up along the cast on edge for each shoulder.
These are worked individually with neck shaping increases and then joined together to form the front of the vest.
Front armhole shaping increases are worked and then the front is joined to the back at each underarm to form the body.
The piece is now worked in the round with color work charts.
Once the body is complete, the neck stitches are picked up and knit to complete the neckline finishing.
Finally, armhole stitches are picked up and knit.
