This will look well in any lightweight yarn that has a good drape, like alpaca, wool, silk, cashmere, to name a few. You might want to use a slightly larger needle for mohair.

Pick a needle that will produce you a fabric you are happy with, since this is a shawl, the gauge is not something to worry about. I have added mine just to give you a basic idea.

I believe this pattern to be suitable for beginner lace knitters. The body is a simple stockinette and the lace chart is fairly simple, if you pay attention to rows with a double decrease.

I would strongly suggest using markers for the center stitch. If you decide to use markers for each lace repeat, please, read carefully the instructions. We had a discussion on the subject in testing thread, page 4, but if you still find anything unclear, please, message me up - I am online quite often and will be happy to help.

The shawl has been tested in a variety of yarns, thanks to my fantastic test knitters! The project pages should be linked to pattern soon enough. Please, share your finished objects :) It is amazing to see how the same design looks in various yarns, done by different people, giving inspiration to other knitters.
