I heart Preemie Project: On-Going donation for NICU
With Permission:
This pattern is dedicated to the memory and short life of “Phoenix”

These hats were designed for the Micro Preemie that do not make it.. that pass away ! This has been inspired by a friend who has gone through this distressing time recently and i am collecting the hat and sweater to donate with her.

The Parents have the wonderful opportunity to have their baby photographed before burial and then get to keep the hat and cardigan for a keepsake to be framed.
I have had a few people request to knit with me and mail these beanie hat to me.Contact me for an address but you must must send items in ZIPLOCK bag before packaging and mailing them.
You can also keep knitting these for your Local hospitals.. please go in with a sample to check if they approve and find out how many Micro- preemie they get etc. if they request my pattern .. and would like to distributed it to other knitters you have permission to give them a pdf and my contact info.
Please make sure that you send me a quick note letting me know which hospital/ city and the contact person you have given the pattern to.

It is the accessory to go with the I heart Preemies Cardigan

I will release different versions/design going forward that will be combined with my other patterns.

Yarn:
Fingering weight/ sock weight is best
The best yarns for Preemies are spun from cotton, bamboo, acrylic, and alpaca.
Colors: White/blue /pink/lavender + other gender neutral colors

Avoid yellow because the micro-preemies skin can be a little dusky at birth and the color yellow isn’t flattering. Avoid heavy variegated yarns.
A few rich colors don’t hurt ..mostly soft pastel are great.
Please post Project page or in the group it is very encouraging

Items from this pattern are NOT to be sold. This pattern is supplied on the condition that items made from it are given to neo-natal units (NICU) and/or the various premature and baby loss charities that help families at their most distressing time.Thank you for “Honoring” this request.
