Inspired by a colourway called I Smell Snow, this scarf features very simple lace snowflakes the full length of the scarf.

The pattern includes instructions to make this scarf in bulky (category 5), or super bulky (category 6) yarn, using a 9 mm (US13) needle for either weight of yarn, and the same yardage as well, though you can easily change the length, which will change the yardage required!

Note, I used a hand-dyed bulky weight yarn (100% superwash merino) that is not listed on Ravelry (Handmade Home Fibers, Chubby base), but I believe Malabrigo is the closest, well-known yarn.

Gauge (10 cm/4”) is different for the 2 weights of yarn:
Bulky (category 5): 11 sts x 15 rows
Super Bulky (category 6): 9 sts x 13 rows

You can also make yourself a matching hat with the First Flakes beanie!
