PATTERN INFORMATION
Made in worsted weight wool, Icicle Hat uses a simple yet interesting cable pattern with eyelets. The pattern is available on its own or as a mini e-book with a matching cowl pattern, Icicle Cowl.

Skills needed
Long tail cast on, knit, purl, decreases, increases, yarn-overs, working simple cables, working in the round.

Sizes
S (M, L) Shown in size L.
To fit head up to: 51 (56, 61) cm/ 20 (22, 24) in. S is a young
kids’ (3-5 years) size, M is an older kids’ and small adult size, L will fit most adults.
Finished brim circumference: 38 (42, 46) cm/ 15 (16.5, 18) in.
Finished body circumference: 48 (52.5, 57) cm/ 19 (20.5, 22.5) in.
Finished length: 21 (26, 26) cm/ 8.5 (10.25, 10.25) in.

(measured after blocking)
• Cable panel: 26 sts and 20 rows = 11.5 cm/ 4.5 in wide and 7.5 cm/ 3 in high, with larger needle(s)
• Stockinette stitch: 18 sts and 24 rows = 10 cm/ 4 in, with larger needle(s)
• 2x2 rib: 21 sts = 10 cm/ 4 in, with smaller needle(s)

Materials
Yarn:
120 (160, 170) m/ 132 (176, 187) yds of worsted weight yarn. Shown in Cascade 220 (100% wool, 200 m/ 220 yds per 100 g, col. 8891 Cyan Blue).

Needles and notions:
• larger needle(s): 4.5 mm (US #7) or size needed for gauge, 40 cm/ 16 in long circular or/ and DPNs, or long circular for magic loop
• smaller needle(s): 3 sizes smaller than larger needle(s), for ribbing
• cable needle
• yarn needle
• 3 removable stitch markers
