UPDATE July 2026:
The english version of this little flying piggy pattern is now updated and tested the original pattern was inspired by the pattern knud by Slagt en hellig ko and i wrote it down over a decade ago, so now it got its well deserved update!

This pattern shows you how to knit a piglet with sewed on ears and wings (and a tail if you like) that can be hanged in the car, be cuddled and loved or simply admired.
The body is knit flat in garther st, then sewed up along the belly. There are different ear and wing sizes to choose from to make each piggy unique.

What yarn to use?:
It does not really matter what yarn you use, but the weight of your yarn and the size of your needles will determine the size of your piggy.

You should know how to…

• work knit sts (flat garter st)
• work decreases such as ssk and k2tog
• work increases such as m1l and m1r
• know how to cast on and bind off sts
• make a simple crochet chain for the tail

This does not mean, that you need to know all of these techniques, most of them are easily learned from youtube or your favorite knitting friend.

Update 2025: I am working on an overhaul of this pattern. I wrote it down in my teens (thats a long time ago ;)) so it could do with an update. Will post here when I release it.

this is a very easy pattern for small (or big) flying piglets.
you can use whatever yarn and needles you like and by doing that determin the size of your piglet.
