From Knit Kimono: “This kimono is knitted in one piece from cuff to cuff. The garter stitch brick pattern provides a subtle allover texture reminiscent of the inconspicuous komon of the time; the spark of color in the facings captures the sense of understated elegance.”

Note regarding Needles and Yarn: Due to the size of this project, the pattern recommends a 32-inch size 10.5 (6.5mm) needle for the body. For the edging, one 24-inch and two 32-inch circular needles size 8 (5mm) are required.

The model kimono uses the following colors of the recommended yarn:

  • (MC) #620 fern, 15 skeins
  • (CC1) #619 tomato, 3 skeins
  • (CC2) #622 pumpkin, 1 skein
