This sock pattern utilizes texture to make the colours of self-striping yarn pop. The colourway I used for this pattern is Cherry Blossoms V2.0. So I chose a textured pattern that reminds me of lots of tiny cherries.

In brainstorming a name for this pattern, I turned to my favourite tv show, Gilmore Girls. In a Season 2 episode, Luke & Lorelai have been fighting. She won’t go into Luke’s Diner, so Rory goes in to get food & coffee for the two of them. Luke catches on quickly & refuses to give her two danishes unless she eats them in the diner.

These socks are knit using the magic loop method (although the purchaser could easily adapt it for two circulars or double points).

This pattern includes toe-up and cuff-down instructions.

The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, purl, knit through the back loop (ktbl), knit two together (k2tog), M1L, M1R, slipped stitches, slip slip knit (ssk), and wrap and turns (W+T). Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern. In addition, a video tutorial for the shadow wrap technique of W+T for short rows has been recorded by the designer.

This pattern includes instructions in both written and chart forms for 56 stitch, 64 stitch, and 72 stitch socks.
