This adorable pattern is a great introduction to colorwork. Stripes, embroidery, and cleverly placed buttons provide limitless opportunities to delight any child. There are three different mittens (some with buttons, some without), and two versions of each mitten. This is an excellent way to use up scraps of Baby Cashmerino, or indulge the little button collector in your life :)

You will need no more than one ball each of #340032 sky (MC) and #340100 white (CC) for the Picnic Blanket mitten, for all sizes.
Additional colors for the Lady Bug and Traffic mittens include: #340006 candy pink (A), #340002 apple (B), #340700 ruby (C), #340062 gold (D), #340204 aquamarine (E), #340040 leaf (F), #340009 slate (G), #340300 black (H), up to 1 ball each depending on usage.

You will also need:

  • stitch markers
  • tapestry needle
  • stitch holders
  • optional: two 5/8” ladybug buttons, two 5/8” car buttons, two 5/8” stop sign buttons, two 5/8” watermelon buttons.

Warning: do not use buttons on the smaller sizes they are a choking hazard for small children
