In a Spruce Copse Shawl

This triangular shawl is inspired by my last summer holidays. I’ve decided to design an autumnal shawl with elaborate lace edging and tree motives of various height. It is like a coppice: a thicket of smaller and a bit larger trees. The construction is from the outside in. The edging is made first and the stitches on the straight edge are picked up. The main section is then knitted and there are decreases every second row, so the number of stitches reduces until you end up with just a few stitches on the needle.

For this pattern it is best to select a one-color or a semi-solid hand-dyed yarn. 3.5mm/US 4 needles will be needed.
