In Loving Color is a wonderfully cheerful colorwork design. Not only beautiful to look at and wear, but a joy to knit for colorwork experts and newbies alike. Works well for all types of projects, all ages, and it’s gender-neutral. I started with the In Loving Color socks. Then I made the hat and mitts. Still, I wanted more, so I designed the baby sweater and matching hat. The pattern includes sizes for 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24 months. Because there is no detailed shaping, you have leeway with dimensions, and lengths given are approximations. There is room for variance. I recommend Knit Picks Stroll Sock yarn. It has a fine twist, which produces great stitch definition. Plus, it’s machine washable. For the 6-month size, you will use about 620 yards to make both the sweater and the hat. (Black and White only require between 50 and 60 yards each.) One skein of each Knit Picks stroll Sock yarn color listed will be enough to make any of the sizes included.
