Indian Summer is a beautiful crescent shawl, a true one skein wonder. It is knit entirely in a simple yet stunning lace pattern that gives it a magnificent drape. This shawl is a perfect accessory to wear over your summer dress on cooler summer days.
The yarn for this design was kindly provided by Meadow Art
This pattern includes chart and written row-by-row instructions.
Measurements: after blocking: approx. 160 cm/ 63” wide, 30 cm/ 12” long measured from center top to bottom;
The pattern is easily adjustable to obtain a shawl in a larger size.
Gauge: 23 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm/ 4” in Stockinette Stitch on 3.5 mm/ US4 needles, measured flat after blocking;
Gauge is not important for this project but it will affect the size of your shawl and the yardage. Make sure you have enough yarn to complete your project.
Yarn: Meadow Art Yarn Sock 75% merino wool, 25% manufactured fibers: nylon/ polyamide; 425 meters (465 yards)/ 100g (3.53 oz): 1 skein;
Or: 425 m/ 465 yards of light fingering weight yarn;
Needles: 3.5 mm/ US4 circular needles at least 80 cm/ 32” long or needle size to obtain the gauge;
Other: tapestry needle to weave in ends, markers (optional);
