The Tucks give a sculptural effect to an otherwise plain sweater knitted in Zephyr Lace in a dark indigo color which easily can be combined with the rest of your wardrobe. I have designed yet another party sweater, this time fitted. In black it would look like it was made of leather.

Indigo Sweater including Cowl is available to download in English.

Yarn info: The sweater and cowl are knitted with 2 strands held together of Zephyr Lace: 1 (1) 2 cone/s required for both or in Alice Sock or Heritage Silk with single strand.
Yardage for cowl: 610 m/667 yds for cowl knitted with 2 strands otherwise half that amount.

Finished measurements: S (M) L:
Bust: 90 cm/35 1/2” (94 cm/37”) 99 cm/39”
Waist: 78 cm/30 3/4” (82 cm/32 1/4”) 87 cm/34 1/4”
Length: 55 cm/21 3/4” (55 cm/21 3/4”) 55 cm/21 3/4”
Upper arm: 52 cm/20 1/2 (52 cm/20 1/2”) 52 cm/20 1/2”
Cowl: bottom width circumference: 52 cm/20 1/2”, top width circumference: 44 cm/17 1/2”, length: 28 cm/11”

The sleeves are knitted flat while the body is knitted in the round up to the armholes.

To avoid picking up stitches from the WS, row/rnd 1 is knitted with 2 needles held parallel. On the following rows/rnds only the working needle is used until the pleat is complete and the second needle is folded to the back and knitted together.

The pattern is revised 30. May 2013.
