I originally made these socks as a gift to my amazing mother Inger.

I really like how the texture of the leg adds an extra dimension to a self-striping yarn, whilst the stripes are allowed to stand out beautifully on the foot.

The leg is made a little wider so that they can fit over a pair of leggings or an underlayer for when it gets really cold and you don’t want your ankles to freeze. The foot is smooth and snug so that the socks can be worn with shoes.

The pattern is easily adjustable to fit smaller or larger sizes. Just use the measurements of the foot you want to fit and increase or decrease the amount of stitches accordingly. The pattern includes instructions on how to do this!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or comments or if you need additional instructions. If you think you have found a mistake in my pattern, please let me know as soon as possible!

Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to my beautiful mother who not only inspired these socks, but were also kind enough to model them for me!

Happy knitting!
