Hand-dyed yarn comes in a great variety of weights, colors and color patterns. Have you tried a hand-dyed fingering weight yarn that has a tiny strand of sparkle (Lurex) woven in? Miss Babs Yarns fingering weight Estrellita has just the right amount of sparkle and comes in some amazingly beautiful colorways.

For my Inner Sparkle shawl I used two skeins of Miss Babs Estrellita (400 yards/100 grams) in the color “Confetti”.

With 800 yards I designed a large right-angle triangular shawl with an interesting lace border on the straight side edge of the triangle, and a simple mesh making up the body of the shawl. I kept the stitch patterns fairly simple so that the sparkles and the color are the main feature of the shawl. The lace stitch pattern that borders the straight side edge mirrors the stitch pattern for the body of the shawl, and one stitch pattern easily flows into the next.

The main stitch pattern for the majority of the shawl is a four-row repeat that you can easily memorize so that you can sit back and enjoy a relaxing crochet project.

And, Inner Sparkle has a generous size for wrapping and wearing in variety of ways. So, find that special yarn and release your Inner Sparkle!
