The ancient Aran patterns and the Seed Stitch Eton collar bespeak old-fashioned quality in this baby’s Aran cardigan.

Knit on #5 needles, using the Blackberry Stitch, the Gordian Knot and the Diamond with Moss, this design requires smooth worsted spun yarns to enhance these traditional stitches, and add depth and impact to the intricate needlework. Buttons of bone or mother-of-pearl are a good compliment to the design.

Innisfree is especially wonderful knit in Superwash wool. It requires the skills of a seasoned intermediate knitter.

Below is the corrected Row 9. The error is at the very last section:
Row9: Sl1 st to cn, hold in back, K2, P1 from cn, (K1, P1) thrice, K1, sl2 sts to cn, hold in front, P1, K2 from cn.

Note: The correction is applicable to both the 1st printing in 4/1990 and the 2nd printing 8/2012. The Ravelry download has the corrected text.
